Frequently Asked Questions About Coro Cora
Here are some of the most common questions our clients ask about our Coro Cora collection.
Coro Cora
was founded in 2021 by a Colombian mother-and-daughter duo, Maria and Laura, based in Bogota. The brand was created to merge contemporary home décor design with traditional, generations-old Colombian craftsmanship. The name "Coro Cora" is inspired by the vivid Scarlet Ibis bird (locally known as the corocora), which is native to Colombia and represents the vibrant energy of the region.
Every piece is 100% handmade by artisan cooperatives across Colombia. For instance, their Iraca palm pieces (like the Starfish placemats) are traditionally woven by artisans in Usiacurí, a town on the Caribbean coast. Their Toquilla palm products (like the Soleil and Lobster napkin rings) are crafted by women artisans in Sandoná, nestled in the mountains of Southern Colombia.
Because the items are crafted from dried natural palm fibers, they should never be soaked in water, put in a washing machine, or bleached. To clean them, simply wipe them gently with a soft, dry, or very slightly damp cloth.
Despite their detailed, sculptural, and three-dimensional appearance, Toquilla and Iraca palm fibers are incredibly lightweight. They provide great structural integrity and tactile contrast to a table setting without weighing down delicate linen or cotton napkins.
Here on Amiramour we offers a Coro Cora luxury tableware, including placemats and napkin rings.
