Square Trinket Tray 'Orphée à la Lyre' Jean Cocteau by Raynaud
AVAILABLE: 10-15 weeks delivery
Inspired by the works created by Jean Cocteau, Raynaud is presenting a new elegant porcelain collection, based on the matt pastel backgrounds with subtle hues so dear to Cocteau, which contrast with the fine lines of the motif.
In 1983 Raynaud works with Seta Aubusson to produce 250 copies of three motifs taken from Jean Cocteau’s ceramic universe on dishes in a pale-pink clay body. Thirty-five years later, still fascinated by the ceramicist, Raynaud is presenting a new collection directly inspired by the works created by Jean Cocteau in the 1950s.
Raynaud is reinterpreting the motifs of the original plates and using them on fine Limoges porcelain.
The mythological characters of Orpheus and Eurydice, Proteus and Antinous, with their profiles outlined in colour, are emblematic of Cocteau’s work.
They are a must for collectors and admirers of this eclectic artist.
*Hand-wash recommended, suitable for microwave.
